Eleven year old, Joah Roux from Coldstream, caused a major upset by winning the 14 and under section of the Tennis BC sanctioned junior tournament, that was held at Marshall Fields last Sunday. Runner-up was Guy Evans from Lakeview Heights.
In the 12 and under section, 10 year old Hudson Yawney, also from Coldstream, was narrowly defeated by Marcus Kapiturov from Kelowna.
In the 10 and under section, 7 year old Koa Sakakibara from Vernon won the 10 and under section. Runner-up was Amelia Downey from Kamloops.
Tennis BC sanctioned tournaments are part of the Vernon Tennis Association junior program that currently provides opportunities for its members to not only learn to play tennis but also to play tennis at all levels.
